when people say they want to be like me

"I want to be exactly like you!"  I get this  A LOT.
Like hey, that's cool and all and I'm flattered, really. But in all honestly there is only one of you. If you try to be someone else then that you is gone. I mean inspiration is great and really enjoying someone else's style or art is normal but don't try to be something you aren't. We have different skills, different ways of learning, different personalities and they all influence who we are and what we do. Trying to be someone else takes away what others like about you. Yourself. Your friends are your friends because they like you. Don't change yourself just to impress others because just nope. If they hate you just take it. Some people hate me. But I'm not going to stop drawing ponies mawahahah. Really though. You aren't me. You're you. Do what you want.
This sounded cheesy but whatcha gonna do about it.
